Pre School, Devon – Bamboo Chemical Management Programme
Southwest Knotweed have recently conducted a Chemical Treatment Programme in Ashburton Devon, where-upon, Bamboo had penetrated the stone-built exterior wall to the school. The Bamboo present had been situated in this location for many years, indicated by maturity evident by the lateral spread, culm size and colour.
The initial works involved the cutting down of the Bamboo Culms, followed by an application of a Chemical Treatment comprised of Glyphosate & Pelargonic Acid. The cut Culms were disposed of offsite at a green waste facility.
As can be seen from the location of Bamboo, remediation strategies were limited due to access restrictions, hence a chemical treatment plan was implemented, as opposed to excavation.
Southwest Knotweed will return for further Treatment / Monitoring visits over the next two years, followed by a 5-Year Guarantee on completion of the full Programme of Works.
