Japanese Knotweed stems will reach heights of 2-3 metres in the summer with the stem being hollow with nodes that make the stem resemble bamboo.
The leaves will be green in colour appearing from zig-zag plant growth and at this time of year the Japanese Knotweed produces a dense canopy of foliage which deprives our own native plants from sunlight.
In late summer the plant will start to produce white flowers.
